Cloudlines is a multi artfom VR experience taking audiences on a journey through The Cloud –a vortex of data and reverie threatening to consume all who enter.

Part live immersive performance experience and part virtual reality, in Cloudlines audiences are invited to explore their own agency and complicity in The Cloud. What is seemingly benign and beautiful is far more complex and treacherous than initially thought.

Designed as a simultaneous performance in two different locations connected via a multiplayer game environment in virtual reality, Cloudlines explores themes of connection, belonging and identity in our online world and whether it is possible to find real connection in our digital realities.

Devised by a group of Australian and Malaysian artists online during the covid pandemic and still in development, Cloudlines is a vehicle to enable artistic collaboration across distance, across artforms and across generations. The premiere performance will be performed simultaneously in Darwin and Penang in 2023.

Genre: Experimental / Poetic

Experience Duration: 45 min performance, including live and VR elements

Cloudlines Development has been supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, NT Government, NT Regional Arts Fund and Browns Mart Theatre.
